Training Leaders in the Bahamas ~ September 2016

Truth Connect was in Nassau, Bahamas to train church leaders in September, 2016.   Dr. Cherelus Exante and the New Haitian Mission Baptist Church hosted the 4 day Leadership Training Conference (LTC).  I had the privilege to teach local pastors, seminarians, and church leaders who were enthusiastic students.  The LTC curriculum focus was Leadership Principles of Israel's Shepherd - Kings.  One key idea that captured the hearts of the participants was, "You do what you do because you think what you think.  To do better you must think better."  It is a simple but powerful truth.  Truth Connect's training helps leaders to think better so they can lead better.

I have worked in the Bahamas since 1993 and therefore have plenty of friends and associates I visit when I can.  Tim & Felicia Ryan are missionaries from Wisconsin.  They serve at All Saints Camp, a care facility for residents experiencing difficult life circumstances or terminal illnesses. They are God's special caretakers.  The Bazile Family oversee a Haitian church in Nassau and direct a church and school in Cap Haitien, Haiti.  Alley and Keshner have birthdays a month apart and we celebrated at McDonalds with happy meals and ice-cream.

Dr. Exante and Mrs. Anne Cherelus were the hosts for the LTC.

Pastor Exante and Sister Moises helped interpret for the LTC.

Award certificates were given to LTC participants.

Cap Haitien Leadership Training Conference ~ 8/15

Truth Connect has just completed a three day Leadership Training Conference (LTC) in Cap Haitien, Haiti (8/17-19)  The LTC was hosted by Pastor Aleonce Bazile at the Alliance Church in Limonde.  Ninety-eight church leaders attended the conference, some came from as far away as Port-au-Prince.  Joe Barnouski teamed with Don Schreier to provide seminars on leadership development.  Stepping Stones Ministry partnered with Truth Connect to provide teachers' training.  Kim and Scott Smith lead this ministry and provided seminars for elementary school teachers.  The LTC and teachers' training were conducted simultaneously.  Both the LTC and teachers' training was received enthusiastically and great value was added to all who attended.

Bahamas Training Ends With Much Enthusiasm

There was great enthusiasm in the church as Truth Connect completed a 3 day Leadership Training Conference in Nassau, Bahamas.  Approximately 60 church leaders representing 6 different organizations came together each evening at United Alliance Church.  Pastor Bazile was the conference host and translated for me as I taught. The theme for the conference focused on the Qualities of a Church Leader.  When certificates of participation were awarded at the end of the conference the question was, "When will Truth Connect be back for the next conference?" What an excellent question that also included a word of encouragement.

Pastor Bazile and his wife, Yanick.  They make an incredible ministry team.
