A Couple Days In Nairobi

After 28 hours of travel I arrived into Nairobi airport.  There was a major fire at the airport in August.  I learned it was an electrical fire - not caused by terrorism.  That was helpful information since there was a terrorist attack at the Westgate Mall just last month.  Since I was in town for 2 days I decided to visit Westgate Mall and see the damage.

Westgate Mall, Nairobi the site of a terrorist attack.

The place is cordoned off while forensics specialist search through the rubble.  The night before I visited the site, there was a special on TV titled "Wolf of Westgate."  It was an investigative piece and there are still many questions about what happened during the attack and especially what happened after the attack.  If you can find the video, I think you'll find it interesting.

After my visit to the Westgate Mall I then went to see Nairobi Chapel.  This past summer I attended the Global Leaders Summit put on by the Willow Association.  It was an incredible two day conference.  One of the speakers was Pastor Oscar Muriu, Senior Pastor at Nairobi Chapel (www.nairobichapel.org).  I was so impressed by his message I wanted to see his church where thousands worship every week.  Pastor Oscar is out of the country but I did get to visit the worship center.

I'm leaving Nairobi for Eldoret the city in western Kenya where Truth Connect will conduct a Leadership Training Conference later this week.
