Truth Connect was in Eldoret, Kenya to conduct a Leadership Training Conference (LTC) in October, 2015 (see previous post). While there the Truth Connect team visited two ministries that help children.
The first was a school for poor children operated by Pastor and Mrs. Obed Maina. The school operates in a community in Langas, a very poor area south of Eldoret city. The school facility is humble with dirt floors and natural lighting. But the Administrator and teachers are exceptional people who love and care for the children in their charge. They have high goals and work hard to achieve them.
The second ministry the Truth Connect team visited was Jesus Loves Ministry. Bishop Wilson Kurui and his wife, Christine founded this ministry to care for abandoned children, aka. "street children". Bishop Wilson was himself a "street child" and understands the challenges and difficulties these children experience. There are approximately 40 children the ministry cares for. Our hearts were broken by a little 3 year old girl at the ministry ~ she was found abandoned on the streets. Jesus Love Ministry is doing a wonderful job caring for and loving children abandoned to the streets.

Pastor Anthony, who was my translator for the LTC, serves at Jesus Love Ministry. He has a passion to help street children find help, hope and love. |

Mr. Richard Rohde, Bishop Wilson Kurui, Pastor Anthony, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Braley stand on the edge of the property rented by Jesus Love Ministry. Their lease up and the ministry must move. They are asking for prayers and funding to help them move and continue their ministry to abandoned street children. |
