Leadership Training Conference in Lumakanda, Kenya. October 17-18, 2019

Truth Connect conducted its third annual Leadership Training Conference (LTC) at Lumakanda Baptist Church, Lumakanda, Kenya.  Pastor Martin Shikuku organized the conference and Pastors Julius and Enosh were the hosts.  The two day conference served 66 church leaders.  Dr. Donald Schreier and Mr. Moses Colon were the conference trainers.  Mr. Colon taught verse by verse through the book of Ephesians.  Dr. Schreier taught on the importance of the local church and its leaders.  He also taught a session on the 4 steps to Bible study and exegesis. The leaders were very enthusiastic learners and participants. Truth Connect is committed to training church leaders so that they can better lead in the homes, churches and communities for the glory of God and the magnification of the name of Jesus Christ.

Eldoret, Kenya Leadership Training October 2019

Truth Connect partnered with Glory Baptist Church, Eldoret, Kenya to provide a Leadership Training Conference (LTC) for local and foreign church leaders October 14-16, 2019. Pastor Martin Shikuku and his wife Anne hosted the training at their church. Dr. Donald Schreier and Mr. Moses Colon were the Truth Connect conference trainers. One hundred and twenty six leaders enjoyed three full days of training.  Mr. Colon taught the Epistle of Ephesians verse by verse -- this was very well received.  Dr. Schreier taught on the importance of the church and its leaders. The leaders were taught the four foundational steps to Bible study, broken into study groups and given a Bible passage to exegete.  This assignment was well received and leaders worked enthusiastically to accomplish the task.  At the conclusion to the training each participant received a Certificate of Participation. God was at work in the LTC and we give Him thanks and praise for His grace and blessings.

On My Way To Kenya

I leave for Kenya tomorrow (10/16).  Truth Connect will conduct a Leadership Training Conference (LTC) in Eldoret, a city in western Kenya.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of our friends there.  Bishop Chris and Word of Life Harvest Church will host next week's LTC.

Word of Life Harvest Church, Eldoret, Kenya will host Truth Connect LTC.

Bishop Chris has planted over 60 churches in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.  This conference will be a reunion of pastors as well as a time of encouragement, training, visioning, prayer and worship.  Bishop Chris is expecting well over 200 church leaders to attend the LTC from October 23 - 27.

Dr. Don and Bishop Chris.

I am going in a few days ahead of five other missionaries who will help facilitate the conference.  I'll spend a couple of days in Nairobi before flying to Eldoret on Saturday.  The mission team will arrive in Edoret on Tuesday evening and the LTC begins the very next day.

Thanks for remembering us in your prayers.  I'll keep you posted on the trip.  Grace & Peace in Him!

Truth Connect - The Beginning

Welcome to Truth Connect's initial blog! Truth Connect began January 1, 2012 and was created as a Christian non-profit organization to help train church leaders around the world. Don and Karen Schreier are its founders.

Truth Connect exists to glorify God by connecting first world church leaders with third world churches for the purpose of training in Bible and leadership principles, developing symbiotic church relationships, and empowering communities through evangelism and sustainable health initiatives.

Even though Truth Connect is a new ministry it is an idea that Don had been working on for years. He learned while serving as a mission's project-coordinator with Mission Discovery for the past 20 years that there are many church leaders who lack any kind of training. Christian leaders who are called to serve a local church - who are passionate about the ministry, but who lack training in the Bible and leadership principles.

Truth Connect wants to help connect Christian trainers (those who are passionate followers of Jesus Christ, who know the Bible, leadership principles, and/or life improving ideas) with those who need and want to learn how to better serve their churches and communities.

Truth Connect works with church leaders in third world countries such as Haiti, Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Somalia. These leaders know the needs of their countries and have the necessary authority to arrange training opportunities. Truth Connect recruits qualified Christian volunteer trainers who are committed to sharing what God has entrusted to them via training and experience. It becomes a win-win opportunity for churches "there" and "here."

Churches in the first world have much to learn from churches in the third world. Christians in the third world have great faith in God. They are devoted to following God even when it means they must suffer for their Christian walk. Christians in the third world know how to survive in the most difficult circumstances. Churches in the first and third world truly need each other. Therefore, Truth Connect encourages third and first world churches to develop symbiotic relationships that encourage and help one another.

This is how we have come to know love: He [Christ] laid down His life for us. We should lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has this world's goods and sees his brother in need but shuts off his compassion from him - how can God's love reside in him? Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in action and truth.... 1 John 3:16-18.
